I was off work a few years ago and got a letter from the city about my trees.

I took care of it.

I work midnights, my neighbors know this.

I get another letter from the city.

I can guarantee you I know what it is.

I've been trimming the trees etc.

When I get up tonight I'm gonna look at the letter, whip out the chainsaw and start cutting the trees.

And when the police show up I'll say I'm doing this while it's nice out.

And I'll ask the officer, don't you hate it when you're trying to sleep and people are cutting grass, etc?

 

I suggest you calm the FUCK DOWN! I just don’t want you getting arrested and being called the neighborhood nut

Every town has a, what ever the fuck it’s called starting time. I know in Boston that you can’t start any kind of construction before 7am. So I suggest you check with your local town hall to find out what time you can start up your chainsaw. Be a kind and caring neighbor my friend

 

Most places have at least 12 - 14 hours a day where you're allowed to make noise. Maybe an afternoon after your night off would work out so you won't be too tired.

 

The thing about neighbors is, we live right on top of each other, so close it's hard to have an animated discussion with your mate and not have the neighbors hear all of it.

Luckily, Shooter's neighbors are the best he's ever had. All of them. We all get along just fine.
Well, except for the Kravitz gang. But they're on the next street behind us and down one house, so it's hard to call them neighbors.
But they are called "Kravitz" for a reason.

Always complaining to the city about someone. Arrogant interfering assholes is what they are.
The latest thingy is that they put a speaker in the corner of their property aimed at our property. It plays NPR classical music 12 hours a day, just loud enough to be noticeable. Been going on for about a month. Shooter has ignored it, with the theory that things will only escalate if anyone says anything.
Through a neighbor who did confront them about it, they said it was because Shooter has an ILLEGAL bird feeder and if he'll move the feeder they'll turn off the music.
Shooter did not know it is now ILLEGAL to feed birds. He checked.
It isn't.
Anyway, Shooter was power washing the rocks in the border back in that corner and accidentally hit the speaker. 3,000 PSI. OOPSIE!
Silence.
Awaiting response from Kravitz.

I thought I might be joining you for a few days after one of my comments to a post in a different thread, not that I was sweating it, well maybe just a little, I know I wasn't wrong but I could have worded it just a tad better....

 

Where I live we have 2 acre minimum zoning, so our neighbors aren't on top of us,
but on occasion, a party with loud music may reverberate across the neighborhood.
Since it happens so seldom, it hasn't been a problem. My next-door neighbor's drone did crash in our yard, so he may have been spying on Reni in the pool...not that she cares.
Barking Dogs sometimes can be a problem. We haven't had that but people a few houses away have.

 

When I bought my first house, the neighbor to our right came over to find out exactly "who is living here". Apparently, she didn't like the long-haired guy I had painting the inside of the house before we moved in. I didn't tell her that he was my brother. lol

After we had been there a little while, she started catching me outside when I drove up after work and she would complain about the condition of our lawn. She felt it should be mowed more often. She even went so far as to point out to me that our house used to be the nicest looking yard on our street. With the emphasis on used to. lol

I was always polite when she would come over complaining about something or other, but I drew the line when she insisted that I needed to hire a tree doctor to look at the tree that was out on the sidewalk in front of our house. I told her that was city property and I wasn't going to hire anybody to care for the city's tree, but she could feel free to do so if he wanted to. I think that was when she decided to move. The neighborhood just wasn't her cup of tea anymore. lol

 

Lived on a farm. 105 acres, house 1/8 of a mile off the road. Then somebody sold a 10 acre plot just south east of me. When the wind was right they could smell the farm. When I was spreading manure in the spring it was pretty strong. It was about six months after they moved in that they came to complain about the smell. I told them to get the fuck off my farm. They complained to the town board and the county. They were promptly laughed at. Then they ran into my fence with a snowmobile and tried to sue me because the fence didn't have flags on it marking were it was. I told them where you broke my fence you had to cross 10 acres of my land to hit it. I said I should have you arrested for trespassing. They were a pain in the ass until they finally moved.

 

Not sure about operating a chainsaw in the dark...
