But in a way there is some truth in your humor. Trump does not behave exactly like Hitler. Trump is more of a hybrid of Hitler, Mussolini, and Stalin. He uses tactics and even words and phrases from all three of them. Which makes him a hybrid dictator that is now even using the US military for his own political gain. And if he can use the military to try and score political points and even use lethal force against unarmed migrants there is nothing to stop him from going a step further and us the US military against anyone who opposes him.

In all seriousness, I will point out two areas where Trump is different from Hitler, and neither as dangerous, nor as evil. Anyone who has read many of my comments knows that I dislike Trump and disapprove of most of his policies.

First, Trump is much older. This not only means that he has less time to live - and perform evil - but old men do not dream of conquering other countries. Young men sometimes do.

Second, Trump's life has generally been happy and satisfying. Sure, he has experienced failures and disappointments. None were as destructive to his self image and his standard of living as what Hitler experienced as a young man, when he failed in his efforts to become an architect and an artist. After those failures, Hitler lived an impoverished life in Vienna. Hurt people hurt people. Professional torturers and executioners have often been people whose lives have been unhappy.

The similarities between Hitler and Trump are due to the fact that Hitler appealed to and Trump appeals to the same demographic. This is the demographic of angry white men. Angry white men are angry about their circumstances in life. They choose to direct this anger at people of other races and ethnicities.

Hitler appealed to and Trump appeals to another demographic. This is the demographic of whites who are reasonably prosperous, but who fear that the left will take what they have. This demographic was ambivalent about Hitler and is ambivalent about Trump. Nevertheless they supported Hitler and support Trump out of what they considered, and now consider, to be their economic self interest.

 

Well, Michael Cohen, Trump's lawyer, has now claimed he has made extremely racist comments about black people while in his presence. But of course all the right wingers will claim it is nonsense. And to that I have to respond with a line from @CS natureboy - how do you know, were you there? Cohen was certainly there.

Shooter has come to realize that the reason despicables keep accusing deplorables of always talking about Clinton and Obama is that they don't want to be continually reminded of the failures.

Trump is a BULLSHITER not a liar. He has always been a bullshitter. He as famous for being one. Now we count his hyperbole and are shocked. The many claimed bankruptcy several times and toted his wealth. He was elected with people knowing all of this. It is 2 years into his presidency. The media should pick another topic.

 

Is this new? I listened to a book What would Machiavelli do? from 2000. There is a chapter decided to how Trump tried to get the Javits Center named after his father and offered to forgo his commission. When they read the contract, he was not entitled to any commission. My point, NOTHING NEW.
