I'd say it was more due to using the developer's links, most developers don't like that since most pay for the premium service and bandwidth for their Patreon's. It only takes seconds to make a free throw away MEGA account (you can make throw away emails to with a number of minute email sites) and save them to your own throwaway MEGA account.
