Just out of curiosity, where in your mind do jobs come from if not from seed capital from entrepreneurs who generally have at least some wealth?

Jobs are not like coal or ore. They are not natural resources and are much more fragile in the economy

 

If it wasn't for millionaires and billionaires that took chances with their money they would be nowhere to work for any of us. . Hating people because they made it it's just jealousy

What's more devastating? Older people across America dying as old people do? Or members of your party in Congress getting moved to the door while they're advocating open borders (excuse me "decriminalizing border crossings"), free health care for those border crossers, sanctuary cities,etc, (cuz the younger ones in your party are the ones driving them in that direction) and having their seats flipped by those fresh young Republican candidates, like the sampling shown above?

Oh, well never mind then. Cuz everyone knows nothing changes from polls taken a year before.

And again, "popular voteS" as in, "50 elections" means "50 popular votes". Trump kicked Hill da Beast ass, 30-20 in those popular votes. Legitimize THAT!

What do we have so far?

Trump withheld funding from the Ukraine for the express purpose of trying to extort the new president into trying to frame has political opponent Joe Biden. In fact it was conveyed to the new present he would not even get a call from Trump until he agreed to play ball. And in the meantime Rudy Giuliani was at the reaquest of Trump and the State Department conducting foreign policy in the Ukraine demanding they provide dirt on Biden.

Then when the actual call did take place that also implicated Rudy Giuliani and Bill Barr it was so blatantly an extortion attempt and asking Ukraine to interfere with the 2o20 election that White House lawyers and staff illegally ordered all electronic copies of the read out removed from all normal channels and instead hidden on the most top secret electronic filing system the White House has.

Then a whistle blower came forewarn even before he could file an official complaint in another clear violation of law the White House was immediately informed.

And then the cover up moved to illegally trying to withhold the whistle blower complaint from congress again as required by law.

Then both Giuliani and Trump actually confessed to the crimes multiple times on national TV.

And finally the White House releases a read out of the call and the whistle blower's complaint which first confirmed the accuracy of the whistle blower's complaint and provided evidence of crimes beyond reasonable doubt.

Culminating in the most disastrous public hearing today I have ever witnessed. As I said earlier it was the worst slaughter of Republicans I think I have ever seen while the Democrats now only got the acting DNI to confirm the crimes but also got him to reveal more crimes and more than a dozen potential witnesses for more hearings.

Which is why this is the second poll I have seen on this today with similar results. And they've only just begun.

PS How does President Pelosi sound to you guys? Because Trump implicated him too and said maybe someone should look into his calls with foreign leaders and I am sure the Democrats will oblige since they are already looking into some of Pence's public statements that now seem very incriminating in light of the revelations in just the past few days.

 

It has been a pretty funny week, in a "If you're so rich, why aren't you smart?" kind of way. How does a person go from "This is the end of my Presidency. I'm fucked!" when he was suspected of colluding with a foreign government, to deciding colluding with a foreign government is the way to go?

I don't think we'll see President Pelosi in the Oval Office. Trump doesn't like or trust Mike Pence and wouldn't let him in on the scam. If Pence gets tied to the next rail leaving town, it will be for some other scandal. That's unlikely, but it would have to be some kind of corruption charge from his days as Governor. This is know as the "Spiro Scenario". Pence is a politician and Trump is not. Politicians don't make this kind of mistake.

The problem with predicting what a stupid person is going to do is that stupid people have so many options. Trump does have a history of quitting when the going gets tough. He doesn't call it quitting, he calls it walking away from a bad deal, or sometimes bankruptcy.

Richard Nixon really thought he could ride out the Watergate scandal and finish his second term. It wasn't until a group of Republican Senators went to him and said, "There are recordings of you planning and committing a crime. If the impeachment goes to the Senate, you're going down," that Nixon accepted his fate. Of course, that was a long time ago, when Republicans thought crime was a bad thing. They lumped it together with lying, adultery, not keeping the Sabbath holy, and some other stuff. I don't think that kind of Republican is around anymore.

 

I think that kind of corruption is so ingrained in Trump he just can't behave any other way. He's always been a conman and there is only one consideration in everything he does. What's in it for me? And so when Mueller didn't take him out it was back to business as usual.

I don't think the Senate will even remove Trump from office even for this or anything else. They will just have to pay in 2020.

But I tend to disagree about Pence. First he was in Russian collusion up to his neck during the transition. And his team was informed about Flynn double dealing and working for foreign governments during the transition. And he has just deliberately and knowingly lied to the nation multiple times. So he is vulnerable.

And his real peril is he's been a devoted servant to Trump and always followed Trump's orders including things he knows are blatantly corrupt like using our tax dollars to profit Trump by staying at his properties. With the greatest peril being blind devotion to Trump where he might have walked right into Trump's criminality and not even realize it.

You are right on two other counts though. Pence really wouldn't be worth going after. And no one really wants Pelosi to be president. Including me and her. Its just fun sometimes to remind the Trump supporters just how bad things could be for them backing a corrupt insane clown like Trump./

But here is where I honestly believe you understate the situation. Trump is stupid and ignorant which are two different things. However, he also suffers from multiple mental disorders which have been identified by mental health experts. But now its a whole new ballgame because Trump is also suffering from the later stages of Alzheimer's and/dementia which is why he has been non-functional as president for the past several months and can't even do little dog and pony shows or rallies with blowing things up.

It is the same situation as we had with Reagan but much worse.

Actually the Republicans in the Senate were intent on helping Nixon survive and stay in office because no matter how compelling the evidence was and all the testimony they knew he was guilty but they were still screaming show us proof it was actually Nixon doing this. Where is the smoking gun? And then the tapes came out and there was the smoking gun and then the Republicans in the Senate said well now we're fucked and had to reverse course/

As much as I dislike Trump and disapprove of most of his policies I am leery about impeaching him. When Bill Clinton was impeached his approval rating went up.

Of course that was because Bill Clinton was impeached for a consensual affair with a woman past the age of consent who took most of the initiative. It is not even clear that their affair included sexual intercourse. Most Americans thought Congressional Republicans should grow up and stop acting like twelve year old boys giggling and snickering over a copy of Playboy.

Speaking of Playboy, Larry Flynt of Hustler proved that many Congressional Republicans were guilty of sinful misdeeds of their own.

 

Wrong again dumbfuck. Clinton was impeached for committing perjury and actual obstruction of justice.

 

It has been a couple of years since our politicians have even attempted to do the job they were elected to do.
Looks like it will be several more years before they might get back to their jobs.
Can you imagine what it will be like when Trump wins again?

 

It's amazing what Trump has accomplished with the snivelly little poor losers biting at his ankles for the last 3 years. As Bonchie wrote yesterday, the so-called “parody” stunt Rep. Adam Schiff (D-MA) pulled Thursday at the whistleblower hearing on the Trump/Zelensky call was one of the most despicable things to ever be done by a Congressman at one.

Instead of reading straight from the call transcript itself, Schiff just made stuff up, calling it the “essence” of what President Trump said during the July conversation. Here’s a transcribed refresher on his acting performance for those who missed it:

We’ve been very good to your country. Very good. No other country has done as much as we have. But you know what, I don’t see much reciprocity here. I hear what you want. I have a favor I want from you, though, and I’m going to say this only seven times so you better listen good.

I want you to make up dirt on my political opponent, understand? Lots of it. On this and on that. I’m going to put you in touch with people, and not just any people. I’m going to put you in touch with Attorney General of the United States, my attorney general Bill Barr. He’s got the whole weight of the American law enforcement behind him and I’m going to put you in touch with Rudy. You’re going to love him, trust me.

You know what I’m asking, and so I’m only going to say this a few more times in a few more ways. And by the way, don’t call me again. I’ll call you when you’ve done what I’ve asked.

Schiff, who is the House Intelligence Committee Chairman, was called out for his disgusting stunt shortly thereafter. He ended up admitting what he said was “in part, a parody” (though there was no “in part” about it):

Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) and veteran Fox News journalist Brit Hume both torched Schiff in response, noting the reason why he had to fabricate the conversation was because the actual conversation didn’t prove Trump did anything impeachable.

Sadly, Schiff wasn’t the only Congressman Thursday who resorted to inventing things that were never said.

Shameful.
