So, I finally finished my first monthly request! For those of you who missed it, since I kept getting all these requests but couldn't do them all, I started up a "monthly request project." For the first week of every month I open for people to make art requests of me, and of the requests I get I'll pick one winner. This month, the winner was masterjim8, who wanted "something hypno related with Betty and Veronica."

I actually really like the Archie comics... especially the current ones. They're well-written, they've got good characters and manage to strike a good balance between slice-of-life teen drama and utter goofiness. They're also a lot easier to play for the sexy than the old comics, which is why I took more inspiration from the reboot than from the classic comics here.

I also brought Cheryl Blossom into the mix. I really didn't feel like playing up the rivalry between Betty and Veronica, and Cheryl makes for such a thankful antagonist in these situations. Having a sleepover with Betty and Veronica so that she can hypnotize them into letting her have Archie is totally something I can see her doing... AND, I can totally see her wearing a see-through negligee for a sleepover. This is the same girl who tried to go topless on the Riverdale beach in order to make it feel more "European," after all.

...yo remember when the punisher went to riverdale to kill a drug smuggler who just so happened to look like archie?

Yeah, I read that comic. It was actually pretty good, and I don't even LIKE the Punisher.

Thanks! The outfits were fun to think up, based on their personalities. Of course the unpretentious and tomboyish Betty would sleep in a t-shirt and shorts, while the classy and girly Veronica would have a girlier nightgown (but short so it showed off her legs). And the more openly sexual Cheryl would go all out with the see-through negligee. ^_^


Problem with Archie Comics is that the girls tend to look very much alike... well, Cheryl has classically been drawn with bigger boobs and heavier eyelids than the rest, but Betty and Veronica are almost interchangeable. I like variation, so I tried to make them look slightly different... like Betty has rounder and softer features while Veronica's more angular and Cheryl is curvier.
